Eagle Point Wildlife Management Area Public Meeting to Obtain Input on Hunting Plan

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department (VTFW) and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) will hold a public meeting Wednesday, August 27th to invite public comment on a draft Environmental Assessment for hunting at the Eagle Point Wildlife Management Area.

The 457-acre property in Derby is a unit of the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, managed by VTFW as a state Wildlife Management Area under a cooperative agreement with USFWS.

The public meeting on August 27th will be held at the North Country Union High School Auditorium from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. to present the proposed Hunting Plan assessment and get public input. A short slide show will introduce the Hunting Plan and proposed future management under the plan. A copy of the draft plan can be found at:

Directions to North Country Union High School from Interstate 91 North: Take Exit 27, keep right onto 191, go 2 miles then take right at light onto US 5/VT 105 North, go about 0.1 mile and stay straight onto Union Street. After about 0.1 mile take left under railroad bridge onto Landing Street, take immediate right onto Park Avenue, go about 0.1 mile to high school.
