Annual Meeting of Emergency Responders October 18-19
Emergency responders from all corners of Vermont are invited to take part in the Vermont Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security’s annual Emergency Preparedness Conference on October 18th and 19th at the Lake More Resort in Fairlee.
The conference provides responders, planners, town officials, and other professionals training opportunities and a forum in which to build mutual aid relationships with each other. The conference is free, but registration closes soon so those who wish to attend are encouraged to visit www.vermontemergencypreparednessconference.com to register.
Training opportunities include Ethanol and the Fire Service, Cyber Security: Threats and Reality, New Jersey’s Largest 911 Call: The EMS Response to Superstorm Sandy Emergency, Preparedness for Mobile Home Parks, Preparing Vermont’s College Campuses for the Unthinkable, and many more.
This year’s keynote speaker is Kurt Schwartz, Undersecretary of The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, who will speak about the response to the Boston Marathon bombing, its aftermath, and the importance of preparedness.
