The Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC) welcomes small business owners to a free workshop, Understanding the HUBZone Program, on Thursday, July 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Addison County Economic Development Corporation in Middlebury, Vt.
Kathy Andrus from the Vermont Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration and VT PTAC professionals will provide an overview of the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program and how companies can compete for government contracts. Andrus and VT PTAC will outline the requirements of government contracting and how the HUBZone program helps small businesses achieve success in urban and rural communities. Topics include HUBZone eligibility requirements, understanding the HUBZone certification process, the fundamentals of government contracting and how to successfully compete for contracts.
