Family Fun & Field Day, Moose Lottery -- July 29, Barre

Be sure to bring the family to the Family Fun and Field Day at Barre Fish & Game Club on Saturday, July 29 starting at 9:30 a.m., and stay to hear who wins a moose permit at the annual moose lottery live at noon with on-site broadcast by Froggy 100.9 radio.

Held in coordination with the Barre Heritage Festival, the Family Fun and Field Day is a great opportunity to let your kids try out shotgunning, BB guns and archery with hunter education instructors, check out the inside of a hatchery truck, and to see a live search and rescue demo with Warden Mark Schichtle and his K9 Magooch.

You can also learn how to shoot a crossbow, how to cast to catch bass or trout, and to hear the live drawing of the annual moose hunting permit lottery.

The event is free, open to the public, and no experience or equipment is needed. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and it will be held at the Barre Fish and Game Club, Gun Club Road, Barre, VT 05641.
