On Wednesday, August 10th from 10 AM - 2 PM, the 2nd Annual Vermont Statehouse Buy Local Market will be held in Montpelier, offering a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Vermont agriculture and farmers' markets under the gaze of Ceres, Goddess of Agriculture. More than 45 vendors and local organizations will participate in this year's market offering a wide variety of Vermont products: fresh fruits and vegetables, prepared food for lunch, meat, cheese, milk, yogurt, pickles and jams, popsicles, ice cream, baked goods, maple syrup, yarn, and more!
Enjoy live music from the Harwood Union High School Band and Agency of Agriculture staff or join Grateful Yoga for a free yoga class on the lawn at 12:15pm. Sample and purchase Vermont cider, ice cider, mead and spirits. Get ready to shop for your weekly groceries, try something new, grab lunch, or connect with your neighbors and colleagues on the Vermont State House lawn on August 10. The 2016 Statehouse Buy Local Market takes place during National Farmers Market Week and is organized by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets as part of the state's Local Food Wellness and Consumer Awareness Initiative in partnership with the Department of Buildings and General Services, Agency of Administration, Capital City Farmers' Market, the Vermont Farmers' Market Association and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont.
