Small Business Owners Invited to Regional Training and Matchmaking Event To Tap into Government Contracting and Industry Opportunities

Small businesses throughout New England and New York will have the chance to meet procurement and prime contractors, as well as representatives from state and federal government agencies, at the 2015 Training and Matchmaker Event, May 6th-7th at the Equinox Resort in Manchester, VT.

Sponsored by the Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center, in partnership with the Department of Defense Northeast Regional Council, the Office of Senator Patrick Leahy and other agencies, the event will feature networking opportunities, practical training sessions, and a series of 10-minute one-on-one appointments.

May 6th will offer a series of small business trainings such as "Managing Your Innovation Pipeline," presented by the VT Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC), from 9am to noon. The Small Business Administration will hold a breakout session on "Veteran Owned Business Verification Process," and the VT Agency of Transportation will discuss "The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification Program." Procurement specialists will also be on hand to review Capability Statements.

A networking reception will be held on the evening of May 6th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This event offers an opportunity for procurement professionals and small businesses to get an early start on introductions. There is an additional fee to attend this reception.
