Motivating our youth to get outside can be challenging these days with TV, cell phones, and video games around every corner. Lake Champlain International (LCI) believes that fishing is an important activity that can get our youth outside and help them make a connection with the outdoors. LCI will host its 11th Annual LCI Little Angler's Derby presented by Ray's Seafood Market and Restaurant during the first day of the 30th LCI Father's Day Fishing Derby presented by Yamaha.
Registration starts at 10am and ends at noon on Saturday, June 18, 2011 while fishing starts at noon. Fishing rods and reels provided by Ray's Seafood will be given to participants as prizes shortly after the ending time of 2pm.
Participation is free for kids ages 14 and younger. A limited amount of live bait will be supplied by Ray's Seafood Market. The Little Angler's Derby, like all LCI Fishing Derbies, promotes catch and release fishing. For rules and more information, visit www.mychamplain.net.
