Lake St. Catherine Fishing Access Area Closed for Construction in Late September

WATERBURY, VT – The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department’s Lake St. Catherine Fishing Access Area will be closed for repairs to the boat ramp starting on September 20th.

The access currently has a large propeller wash hole that drops off approximately two feet at the end of the ramp and has begun to undercut the concrete ramp. The propeller wash hole will be removed and ramp will be extended to avoid similar problems in the future. If there are no delays the access could reopen three weeks after its closure.

The Lake St. Catherine State Park will open its gate during the access area closure so boaters can launch and retrieve their boats, but other park services will not be available.

Other nearby lakes with state fishing access areas for boating and angling opportunities can be found primarily to the north on Lake Bomoseen, Lake Hortonia, Burr Pond, and southern Lake Champlain.

A complete listing of fishing access areas can be found at the department’s website at
