MONTPELIER – Vermont Governor Jim Douglas and Motor Vehicle Commissioner Robert Ide will join other state and local officials for a ceremony marking the grand opening of the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicle’s new Bennington District Office at 10:00am on Monday February 8, 2010. The facility, which replaced the former North Street location, will provide faster, more convenient service to the motoring public.
"It is a constant goal of the DMV to provide the most efficient service to its customers," Commissioner Ide said. "This new office provides faster service by incorporating a more efficient floor plan, in a more spacious office with plenty of parking and easier access.”
The new Office is located at 120 Depot Street, near Anytime Fitness & Hollister Appliance, in Bennington. The facility is less than one mile from the former office at 215 North Street.
“The move will benefit both our staff and our customers,” Ide said. “Our Bennington location was in need of improvement; the new location is more modern, is in a more convenient location and has the same look and feel as our other offices.”
The new facility provides the same vehicle registration and driver licensing services as the North Street location. The office has a new configuration that will better serve the public.
The Bennington office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
